TVN Discovery’s Player.pl was accessed by 74% more internet users last month than in January.
This, according to Wirtualne Media, made it the most popular browser-accessed on demand service in Poland, pushing Netflix back into second place.
Quoting research undertaken by Mediapanel, it adds that last month Player.pl had 6,797,728 users and a reach of 23.10%, compared to 3,853,656 and 13.25% in January. Netflix, on the other hand, had 6,452,784 internet users in February, down from 6,943,320 a month earlier. Meanwhile, its reach fell from 23.88% to 22.26% over the same period.
Player’s surge was all the more remarkable given that it became a fully paid for on demand service in February.
Other notable trends last month included a 49% reduction in internet users of Canalplus.com.
Importantly, Amazon’s primevideo.com now has just over one million internet users, though the number in February (1,019,992) was slightly down on the 1,153,440 in January.
