A new state multiplex will be launched in Ukraine this autumn.
Quoting the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine, Mediasat reports that the operator of the multiplex will be the Concern of Radio Broadcasting, Radio Communication and Television (RRT).
It adds that the multiplex will be made possible thanks to reforms carried out last year at RRT, as well as the completion of a long period of litigation with Intertelecom.
The latter resulted in RRT receiving equipment that will allow it to operate a multiplex.
The new multiplex will be known as MX-7 and will employ the DVB-T2 standard.
It will distribute around 12 radio stations and TV channels in the 174-230 MHz VHF band and cover 158 population centres.
