Slovakia’s Antik Telecom has signed a multi-year contract for TV broadcasting from Eutelsat 16E, through which it has distributed Slovak channels with Orange.
With Orange having recently stopped its DTH service in Slovakia, Antik is now trying to secure some of the company’s satellite TV subscriber base.
They will be offered the Antik Nano3S hybrid set-top box for €49, or half price. The box combines internet and satellite TV reception and also supports a TV archives and video rental.
Antik will also offer a decoder card for €1 a provide a package with almost 200 TV channels free of charge for one year.
Antik says it is the only operator on the Slovak market has been developing its own equipment for all dominant technological companies in parallel for 15 years platforms – IPTV, satellite TV, DTT and internet TV (OTT).
