Telefónica Group saw its profit grow by 38.5% in 2020.
According to the company’s latest set of results, it amounted to €1.582 billion, while revenues were 11% lower at €43.076 billion and OIBDA 10.7% down at €1.582 billion.
Telefónica’s pay-TV subscriber base decreased by 3.4% in its home market Spain in 2020. It stood at 3,934,500 at the end of last year, down 70,000 on the 4,073,800 posted 12 months earlier.
The company notes that this was due to a reduction in lower value customers, although the performance of higher value customers remained positive.
Telefónica also had 5,961,900 broadband customers in Spain at the end of 2020, down 1% on 12 months earlier.
However, within that total the number of FTTH access rose by 6.7% to 4,614,100. Meanwhile, the number of converged customers fell by 0.3% to 4,824,800 over the same period.
