The Polish public broadcaster TVP plans to introduce a new hybrid set-top box in 2022.
According to Wirtualne Media, it will be enabled to receive DVB-T2 signals and ensure viewers can continue to watch terrestrial TV once the country switches to the standard next year.
It adds that the STB will include such additional features as nPVR, VOD and the ability to watch OTT services from third parties.
TVP began DVB-T2 tests with the national transmission company Emitel last September and plans to resume them shortly.
The commercial broadcaster TVN is also currently undertaking tests.
