Orange saw steady subscriber growth in its TV segment in almost all European countries it is present in last year.
In its home market France, the company ended 2020 with 7,612,000 IPTV and satellite accesses, up from 7,269,000 a year earlier. In Spain, on the other hand, the total rose from 718,000 to 725,000 over the same period, while in Poland it increased from 994,000 to 1,015,000.
There was also growth in Belgium and Luxembourg – up from 235,000 to 259,000 – while the total number of TV subscribers in three Central European markets (Romania, Slovakia and Moldova) remained unchanged at 737,000.
Orange notes that it achieved its financial targets for 2020 as revised in July.
Revenues in France in 2020 amounted to €18,461 million (+1.6%), with EBITDaL increasing by 0.2% to €7,163 million. Revenues in the rest of Europe amounted to €10,580 million, down 3.5% on a year earlier, while EBITDAaL was down 5.8% at €2,932 million.
Spain mostly accounted for the latter reduction (-13%), being offset by solid results in Poland (+3.4%) and Belgium (+8.1%).
