German technical services provider bmt has launched the HbbTV Rating Monitor.
The analysis tool, whose development was supported by Bavarian media authority BLM, primarily targets TV broadcasters whose audience figures are not measured on a daily basis.
The HbbTV Rating Monitor provides real-time insight into the number, viewing time and reception methods of the HbbTV devices on which the channel is being watched. In freely selectable slots, for example every 60 seconds or every 15 minutes, as well as over a certain period of time, such as the past 24 hours, the consumption of the channel can be analysed.
Horst Rettig, Managing Director of local TV channel münchen.tv, had the opportunity to test the service in a beta version. His conclusion: “For us, this is a highly interesting and exciting tool from which we can learn a lot about our programme offer and subsequently optimise it. It’s not just an entertaining toy, but a real tool!”
The HbbTV Rating Monitor is available immediately to all Bavarian local TV channels. From March 2021, the tool will be available nationwide to all broadcasters as a licence. Further details: www.bmt-online.de
