Telenet ended 2020 with a total of 413,400 subscribers to its Streamz, Stream+ and Play More entertainment packages.
This, according to the company in its latest results, was unchanged on the number three months earlier. Telenet notes that it launched Streamz as a 50/50 joint venture with DPG Media last September.
Due to the launch it also introduced a new Streamz+ product and re-branded the former “Play” product into Streamz alongside Play More, which continues to exist.
It adds that “We believe our joint OTT platform is uniquely positioned, combining the best locally produced series of all local broadcasters VTM, Play and Eén, supplemented with must-see international content from HBO, in addition to an extensive kids zone, films and documentaries. Streamz is available to everyone through the Streamz app, online at Streamz.be and through our digital TV platform”.
Telenet had a total of 1,811,700 video RGUs as of the end of 2020, of who 1,688,000 had upgraded to enhanced services. Its enhanced video customer base contracted by 3,100 net RGUs (-4,700 in FY 2020). This was due to slightly higher churn related to an October price rise and the temporary halting of the Signal Switch campaign.
As of the end of 2020 Telenet had 2,048,100 unique customer relationships. Its fixed service RGU total was 4,680,600. Telenet had revenues of €2,575.2 million in 2020, practically unchanged on the €2,583.9 million posted a year earlier.
Its adjusted EBITDA was €1,378.0 million (€1,375.4 million) and net profit 44% up on 2019 at €338.5 million.
