German media regulator KEK has given its approval for licences previously registered in the UK.
Stingray Germany GmbH has applied for nationwide licences for Stingray Classica, Stingray Djazz, Stingray CMusic, Stingray Festival, Stingray Hits, Stingray Naturescape, Stingray Lite TV, and Stingray Qello at media authority LPR Hessen. KEK has given the green light to LPR Hessen for granting the licences.
Stingray has become the latest channel group to surrender licences with the UK media regulator Ofcom following the UK’s departure from the European Union.
Ofcom has also lost the regulation of Amazon Prime to Germany. The video streaming service is now regulated by BLM in Bavaria.
