Türk Telekom has chosen the end-to-end solution provider Altimedia as a set-top box software platform provider and TV application developer.
The telco has selected the ZTE consortium for a project to build a new IPTV eco-system to enhance its service experience and flexible expansion, and the integrated terminal platform includes upgrades on 1 million legacy set-top boxes installed in the field, including interworking with the newly built ZTE system.
The project aims to be completed this year according to Türk Telekom’s business plan, including the STB middleware migration and a new TV service application development.
Brian Koo, head of the European Business of Altimedia, said: “Needs of replacements or upgrades from the first-generation digital broadcasting platforms built more than a decade ago are emerging. We plan to continuously promote Altimedia’s proven solutions and migration experiences to the market.
“And for Türk Telekom, we expect this new project would be another promising milestone on top of the previous STB middleware project successfully completed in 2019 with Turk Telekom Group.”
