Kantar has extended its contract with the Slovakian joint industry committee for TV (PMT) to continue providing the official TV Audience Measurement data for Slovakia until 2029.
The data, insights and consulting company has been providing Slovakia’s ratings continuously since 2004. The new contract maintains a representative panel of 1,200 households, monitoring 150 channels, and includes a complete upgrade to the underlying technology of the service. This includes the roll-out of People Meter 7, Kantar’s newest generation meter that uses a touch-screen tablet to measure live and catch-up viewing on TV.
Commenting on the development, Vladimir Fatika of PMT said: “Our media industry will benefit from the improved technology whilst ensuring the highest possible standards in currency measurement are maintained. We are delighted to be renewing our partnership with Kantar. It follows a rigorous and comprehensive search for the best research and technology partner”.
Keld Nielsen, global strategic director at Kantar’s Media Division, added: “The renewal of our partnership with the broadcasters is welcome news. I am delighted that Slovakia is the latest industry currency to commission our People Meter 7 technology which will strengthen the already very solid foundation of the existing panel”.
