The Latvian incumbent telco Tet has decided to drop five channels distributed by the Baltic Media Alliance subsidiary SIA TEM LV from its offer.
The channels in question (PBK, NTV Mir, Ren TV Baltija, Kinomedija and Kinomiks) have been replaced by what the company describes as equivalent services (LTV7, 1+2, 3+, Mir, TVCi, Dozhd, UATV, Zdorovoe TV, Eureka HD, Pyatnica, Current Time and TV21).
Tet says it has taken the action as “despite long and repeated requests for information” it still does not have access to legally substantiated information about retransmission rights for the channels in Latvia.
“Consequently, it is not possible to perform a proper risk assessment as required by applicable law”.
