Arte has integrated a suite of Dolby immersive technologies into its HbbTV platform.
The HbbTV portal, spearheaded by France Télévisions, was initially launched on the Franco-German arts channel in June 2020. It already supports UHD/4K, HDR and Next Generation Audio (NGA).
In a story first reported by Satellifax, the portal now features content in encoded in Dolby Atmos, an immersive” sound technology.
Arte is also using Dolby Vision technology, seen as one of the most advanced HDR standards.
During its experimental phase Arte is allowing receiver manufacturers and operators of HbbTV services to optimise the user interface and ensure uniform operation across all compatible Smart TVs.
The HbbTV standard makes it possible to add interactive services to television channels regardless of their mode of reception.
