The PPF Group-owned Bulgarian national commercial broadcaster bTV has appointed new editors-in-chief to two divisions of its news, current affairs and sports departments.
Following the departure of Gena Traykova, the award-winning bTV producer Veselina Patrakieva has taken over the position of editor-in-chief of bTV Novinite.
Meanwhile, Iskra Vladimirova, who has been the executive producer of This Morning for many years, has replaced Valya Gizdarska as the editor-in-chief of current affairs programmes.
Commenting on the development, Anton Hekimyan, director of news, current affairs shows and sports at bTV Media Group, said: “I have worked with Veselina Petrakieva and Iskra Vladimirova for many years and I am impressed by their professionalism, integrity and dedication even in situations with the greatest challenges. I am convinced that they are the right people who can take responsibility for news and current affairs and together we will continue the mission of bTV to provide the highest quality and objective journalism in the country. I am grateful to Gena Traykova and Valya Gizdarska for their significant contribution to the achievements of the bTV newsroom as the most trusted source of information, as well as for the many successful projects we have implemented together as a team”.
