Discovery invests in Turkish streamer BluTV

Discovery is to become a 35% investor in the Turkish streaming service BluTV.

The agreement also includes content from the Discovery portfolio and sports channel Discovery.

Discovery will also be able to use content from Blu TV internationally. The partnership includes the option for Discovery to invest further.

Kasia Kieli, President and General Manager of Discovery EMEA, said: “This partnership will strengthen our multi-channel strategy in the market and provide access to the increasingly powerful Turkish productions. We are delighted that BluTV members will be able to enjoy Discovery content wherever and whenever they want very soon.”

Launched in 2016, BluTV offers subscribers around 10,000 hours of content.

The agreement is subject to regulatory approval.
