The online video and TV services provider Megogo has won a tender for the exclusive right to broadcast the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League in Ukraine for the 2021-2024 seasons.
The first event it will show will be the UEFA Super Cup, which is scheduled for August 10, 2021.
Commenting on the development, Volodymyr Borovik, founder and CEO of Megogo, said: “For the first time in the history of Ukraine, the OTT service won the tender to show the most important matches of European clubs. We are pleased to note that UEFA has recognized the professionalism and innovation of Megogo. A new football page for Ukrainian fans is starting now. We will focus on making sports content even higher quality and functionality even more user-friendly. The time of new positive changes has begun”.
Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA’s marketing director, added: “UEFA welcomes Megogo to the UEFA family of media partners. We are really happy that this will provide quality and innovative coverage of the best European club football for Ukrainian fans”.
In addition to the broadcasts of the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League on Megogo, the third UEFA club tournament, the UEFA Conference League, will appear for the first time.
The remainder of this season’s UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League season will continue to be available to Megogo subscribers on Volia channels.
