Netflix is planning the streaming release of some 70 feature films over the course of the next 12 months.
Its planning at least one movie will be released per week.
A number of leading directors and top stars will feature including Jane Campion (The Power of the Dog), Paolo Sorrentino (The Hand of God) and Adam McKay (Don’t Look Up) with performances by Leonardo DiCaprio, Sandra Bullock, Dwayne Johnson, Idris Elba, Meryl Streep, Gal Gadot, Naomi Watts and Jake Gyllenhaal.
The slate includes the Zack Snyder directed Army of the Dead, where a gang of mercenaries attempt a major heist following a Zombie invasion of Los Angeles; Peter Chernin’s Fear Street trilogy is a set of teen horror films set at various points in history and in western The Harder They Fall, outlaw Nat Love (Jonathan Majors) discovers that his enemy, Rufus Buck (Idris Elba), is being released from prison, so he reunites his gang to track Rufus down and seek revenge.
