Cellnex opts for Intertrust DRM

January 12, 2021 20.05 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Cellnex Telecom has chosen Intertrust’s ExpressPlay DRM cloud service for its Spanish digital TV service LOVEStv.

ExpressPlay DRM is a complete multi-DRM monetisation service for OTT streaming and is proven to protect the distribution of premium content issued by major global studios and content rights owners at scale. Jointly developed with the broadcasting companies Atresmedia, Mediaset España, and RTVE, LOVEStv is an HbbTV standard-based platform and ExpressPlay DRM will protect its OTT streaming content.

Commenting on the development, Ali Hodjat, product marketing director, Media Solutions at Intertrust, said: “We are pleased and honored to welcome Cellnex and LOVEStv as the latest European partner to rely on ExpressPlay DRM.

“LOVEStv gives consumers the chance to enjoy experiences that a hybrid broadcast and OTT platform can provide and we look forward to working with Cellnex to support the success of this converged service”.

Xavi Redón, senior product manager at Cellnex, added: “LOVEStv is the perfect platform for Spanish broadcasters to deepen their engagement with their customers.

“Intertrust’s long term experience and technology expertise behind ExpressPlay DRM gives both us and our partners the confidence that their services will be widely enjoyed while continuing to protect content”.
