TV3, Viasat World extend carriage deal

January 6, 2021 09.00 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

TV3 Group and Viasat World have extended their carriage deal in the Baltics for Viasat World’s channel and VOD portfolio.

The deal comprises Viasat World’s full portfolio, including the factual channels Viasat Nature, Viasat History and Viasat Explore; period drama channel Epic Drama; plus its TV1000 movie channels – all in HD – which will be available on the TV3 Group’s Go3 and Home3 pay-TV service platforms in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

Following the success of Epic Drama in the Baltics since it launched two years ago, Epic Drama VOD will also now be available on Go3, the recently launched OTT platform of TV3 Group in the Baltics.

Commenting on the development, Christian Anting, TV3 Group’s CEO said: “We are excited to extend our partnership with Viasat World to include Epic Drama and bring hundreds of hours of new content to our platforms. Go3 subscribers will be able to enjoy a full library of blockbuster movies coming from TV1000 channels and hit series from Epic Drama VOD”.

Irina Gofman, CEO at Viasat World, added: “This exciting deal gives us great distribution across the Baltics, as we grow beyond our core pay-TV offering and add the Epic Drama VOD service. It is testament to how well our channels consistently perform and resonate with the audience, thanks to the premium content we acquire often with exclusivity for the region. As a leading player with a high level of our market expertise concentrated in the CEE region, we’re proud to bring internationally acclaimed content to audiences in the Baltics”.
