Amazon has made its first sports acquisition in the Italian market. The parcels to entertainment company has picked up rights to the Champions League.
Prime Video will telecast 16 games a season between 2021 and 2024. The Wednesday fixture promises an Italian side to feature up to at least the semi-finals, assuming there is Italian qualification.
A 16 match Tuesday night package has been secured by Mediaset, while Sky picks up the remaining 104 games.
The package also includes rights to the the UEFA Super Cup, the one-off fixture between the winners of the Champions League and the Europa League.
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
