The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMKU) has fined Zeonbud UAH25.7 million (€752,000) for charging unreasonable tariffs for the distribution of national TV channels in the DVB-T2 format.
In a statement, the AKMU says that from September 2011 to December 2019 Zeonbud abused its monopoly position, setting tariffs for telecommunications services without any calculations and economic justifications for such tariffs.
Subsequently, it changed tariffs by providing discounts without any economic justification.
At the same time, discounts for different TV companies varied without any reason.
Therefore, it turned out that different companies paid from zero to 100% of the tariff for the same services.
Aside from imposing the fine, the AMKU has ordered Zeonbud to cease the practice.
