Polish viewers are showing record levels of displeasure in commercials carried by VOD services in the country.
According to the latest VideoTrack 5 study by Wavemaker, they are for the first time ever the same as those for TV advertising. Nearly two thirds (63%) of internet users find that VOD commercials bother them to some degree, with the largest dissatisfaction being seen among the 16-24 age group.
The level of advertising on VOD services that carry commercials has risen to 9.5 minutes per hour, or almost that on TV.
Viewers’ opinions in the study, which was undertaken in October, are likely to have been influenced by the growing popularity of ad-free services such as Netflix and HBO Go.
