Xtra TV integrates OTT technology

December 15, 2020 10.04 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The Ukrainian DTH platform Xtra TV has made films and series in Oll.TV’s video library available to its subscribers.

This, according to its operator Media Group Ukraine (MGU), is in addition to popular Ukrainian and international TV channels.

Oll.TV’s video library consists of over 3,500 films and series from the world’s leading studios, cartoons and popular entertainment programmes.

As a result, Xtra TV has become the first satellite operator in Ukraine to provide a comprehensive service for its subscribers – both satellite TV and TV via the internet.

Commenting on the development, Yuriy Cherednychok, director of Ekstra-TV, said: “Our main mission is the comfort of viewing, so we are constantly working in this direction. We were the first to launch the opportunity for satellite TV users to watch premium football channels on the website and in the Xtra TV mobile application. A year ago, based on feedback from potential and existing users, added to the list of devices for viewing CAM-modules. Nowadays, watching the growing popularity of VOD, we have provided subscribers to watch movies and the best world series when it is convenient for them. The platform of the innovative product MGU” – Oll.TV service was chosen for implementation. The service will be available only for our subscribers who use satellite equipment, and its cost will be only UAH29 a month. A month of watching movies, HBO series, cartoons and shows in HD quality at the price of a cup of coffee. I think that such affordability in combination with premium content and ease of viewing will provide the new service with great popularity among Xtra TV viewers”.
