The number of subscribers to bundled services in Portugal reached 4.2 million in the third quarter.
This, according to the latest figures published by the regulator ANACOM, was 183,000 subscribers, or 4.5%, more than in the same period last year.
Growth was particularly pronounced with quad and quintuple play offers, which grew by 119,000 subscribers, and to a lesser extent triple play, up by 83,000 subscribers. Double play, on the other hand, lost 4.5%, or 19,000 subscribers.
Quad and quintuple play were the most used, with 2.1 million subscribers at the end of September (50.1%), followed by triple play, with 1.7 million subscribers (40.2%).
The percentage growth of quad and quintuple play offers was, at 6%, lower than the 2019 figure of 12.5%.
Revenues from bundled services between January and September amounted to €1,293 million, up 5.2% on the same period last year, with quad/quintuple accounting for 63.1% of the total. In Q3, ARPU was €34.74, 0.5% more than in Q3 2019.
At the end of September, Meo accounted for the most subscribers to bundled services (40.5%), followed by Grupo Nos (36.8%), Vodafone (19%) and Nowo/Onitelecom Group (3.6%). Vodafone and Meo increased their year-on-year share by 0.6 and 0.1pp respectively, while Grupo Nos and Nowo/Onitelecom Group saw theirs fall by 0.4 and 0.3 pp respectively.
Grupo Nos had the highest share of revenues from bundled services (41.1%), followed by Meo (40.7%), Vodafone (15.6%) and Nowo/Onitelecom Group (2.5%). While Vodafone grew its share by 1.5 pp year-on-year, Nos, Meo and Nowo/Onitelecom Group saw theirs fall by 0.7 pp, 0.4 pp and 0.4 pp respectively.
