Almost half (46%) of homes in Slovenia with internet access receive their service via a fibre connection.
According to the findings of a study undertaken in November by Episcenter for the regulator AKOS, this is over twice the number (22%) that do so via cable, while 13% of respondents use an xDSL connection.
Other findings include that 79% connect to the internet via a WiFi router and 43% to a computer via a direct wired connection.
Download speeds of 10-30 Mbps are used by 18% of respondents, the same percentage as those who opt for 30-100 Mbps.
Of those respondents who have one TV set, 72% are connected to a digital receiver and two in nearly a quarter (25%) of cases.
Just under a third (31%) use internet services provided by Telekom Slovenije, with 29% opting for Telemach, 18% of T-2, 18% for A1 and 4% from other companies.
The overwhelming majority (90%) of households opt for a bundle of telecom services that includes the internet.
