Antik provides TV solution for Disney

December 14, 2020 11.52 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Slovakia’s Antik Technology has supplied a TV monitoring solution for Disney Streaming Services.

The project for Antik’s client, which provides such services as Disney+, ESPN+ and NHL.tv, consists of specially adapted Antik Nano 3 set-top boxes and control software.

Commenting on the development, Igor Kolla, general director of Antikl Technology, said: “We had a chance to implement the project for Disney Streaming Services mainly because of how one of the few companies in the world market of interactive TV technologies we develop ourselves not only the software but also the hardware part of the platform. This gives us unique flexibility to meet special conditions for demanding clients, such as Disney”.

“The American customer was particularly convinced by our details low-level knowledge of main processor control and sophisticated application
interface, which greatly simplified the integration of the solution into other parts of the supervision broadcast quality”.

Antik monitoring devices were ready for deployment in approximately 20 locations especially in the US, from where they supply image quality information to central dispatching. Disney’s special requirements included strict adherence to specific technical specifications parameters such as chroma 4: 2: 2, the use of High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology for better image quality or 60Hz frame rate for different codecs.

Antik Telecom is the largest provider of gigabit internet and shared economy services in Slovakia. It operates its own network in three dozen cities and more than 150 municipalities throughout Slovakia, provides telecommunication services – optical and wireless internet, telephony, satellite and IPTV for 90,000 customers.
