Altice Europe has announced that Meo will file an appeal against a fine imposed by the Portuguese Competition Authority (PCA).
Imposed on December 3, it amounts to €84 million and is for market sharing and price fixing of mobile and fixed telecommunications services with NOWO.
In a statement, Altice Europe said: “MEO fully disagrees with the PCA’s unexpected decision which once more demonstrates the recent unfavourable telecom market conditions in Portugal. Accordingly, MEO will file an appeal against the decision before the Competition, Supervision and Regulation Court to request the decision to be annulled and to be acquitted of all charges”.
