The new streaming service discovery+ has made its debut in Poland on TVN’s on demand platform Player.
Commenting on the development, Katarzyna Kieli, president and MD of Discovery EMEA, said: “The launch of the global discovery + streaming platform is a milestone for us. I am very glad that Poland is one of the first markets where we will present programs from this website. For the first time such a wide library of our productions will be available in the VOD format. Polish viewers will have access to our unique programmes at any place and time and on any device.
“The discovery + collection on Player also enriches our distribution offer. We strongly believe that it responds to the new expectations of viewers, giving them a foretaste of the joy of using extensive content resources and expanding the area of cooperation with partners. The best examples of this are the already signed partnerships with Sky in the UK or with Verizon in the US”.
According to TVN Discovery Polska, the introduction of programmes from the discovery + website to Player is an element of the company’s global strategy that extends and integrates its digital offer. In parallel, Discovery will continue to expand existing TV channels by investing in new programming offerings. In spring, the stations belonging to TVN Discovery Polska are preparing dozens of premiere titles.
Discovery+ is being offered in Player’s Start VOD package.
