Eutelsat Communication’s executive vice president, Global TV and Video Gerry O’Sullivan is to leave the satellite operator for new opportunities closer to his UK home.
O’Sullivan, who has been behind a range of new innovations for Eutelsat’s Video Business Unit, including the Cirrus cloud video OTT platform, has been commuting to Eutelsat’s Paris HQ from his London home for the past two and a half years.
Eutelsat’s video business generated €785 million in the period 2019-20 and represents 61% of the company’s business.
O’Sullivan was also responsible for the Fransat Platform of 2 million customers and enabled the launch of the world’s first 8K channel.
He has extensive experience of commercial, marketing, operational and technical strategies for leading broadcasters and system operators, including the BBC, BSkyB, Deutsche Telekom, Digicel, Fox News and ABC.
