Multimedia drops Polsat channels

December 1, 2020 10.54 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The Polish cable operator Multimedia has announced that it will withdraw some channels covered by its guarantee on January 1, 2021.

In a statement, it says that the change will apply to Polsat 2, Polsat News HD, Polsat Cafe HD, Polsat Play HD, Disco Polo Music, Polsat Sport, Polsat Sport Extra and Polsat Film HD.

It adds that it may probably be forced to completely stop offering these channels, as well as the remaining ones from Telewizja Polsat’s portfolio.

Multimedia also says it will inform its subscribers by December 20 when the channels will be turned off, which channels will be withdrawn and which channels will replace them.

The scope of the changes will depend on the method of delivery of the channels (analogue or digital) and where subscribers live.

Subscribers who do not agree to the changes have the right to terminate their contracts no later than one month after notification of the changes.

As previously reported by Broadband TV News, Multimedia was acquired by Vectra in February this year. By doing so, Vectra become Poland’s largest cable operator in subscriber number terms.
