Skylink will make its first Canal+-branded channel available to viewers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia on December 1.
According to Parabola, Canal+ Domo will be the second channel offered by Skylink on an exclusive basis after Skylink 7.
Its adds that Canal+ Domo holds a licence awarded by the Polish regulator KRRiT and that in Poland it operates under the name Domo+.
Parabola believes that the channel is named differently in the Czech Republic and Slovakia in order to promote the Canal+ brand. Although very familiar in Poland, where the company has been present since the early 1990s, it is still a relative newcomer in the two countries, with Skylink’s owner M7 Group having been recently acquired by Canal+.
Another reason is to avoid confusion with the Slovak channel TV Doma.
Canal+ Domo will offer a mix of programming shown by the channels Domo+ and Kuchnia+ in Poland.
