Telekom Romania’s TV business lost 110,710 subscribers in the year to September 30.
Results published by parent company OTE show that as of the end of Q3 the total stood at 1,242,746, down 8.2% on a year earlier. Meanwhile, its broadband subscriber total fell by 10.1% to 934,159 over the same period and fixed line subscribers by 14.9% to 1,104,764.
At the same time, the number of FMC subscribers increased by 10.1% to 908,898.
Despite these disappointing figures in the telco’s fixed line business, which OTE is in the process of selling to Orange Romania, Telekom Romania as a whole, including its mobile operation, had revenues of €244.1 million in Q3, or 0.2% more than a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA after lease was €50.3 million, up 40.5% on a year earlier.
In OTE’s home market Greece the company saw a 2.6% increase in its pay-TV customer base in the year to September 30, ending the third quarter with 563,051.
OTE as a whole had revenues of €1,003.6 million in Q3, down 0.8% on a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA was €376.1 million and adjusted profit €148.8 million (+18.9%).
