Commercial broadcaster ITV says advertising trends are improving.
In a trading update for the first 9 months of the year it was confirmed 85% of productions in the UK and internationally were now back in production or had been delivered.
Further improvements have been made to the design of streaming channel ITV Hub, which now has 32 million registered users. However, online viewing was down 6% with no summer Love Island and fewer episodes of the soaps, although monthly active users were up 1% and dwell time was up 6%.
Britbox, the joint venture with the BBC was described as being “on track” and its first original production, a reboot of Spitting Image, was “a very successful launch”. BritBox US now has over 1.5m subscribers and preparations are being made for further international launches, starting with Australia.
ITV total viewing was up 2% with an increase in live viewing.
