Gazprom-Media’s video platform Premier and TV channel 2×2 have entered into a long-term partnership to produce adult animation.
Working with well-known Russian and international companies, they plan to launch their first titles in 2021 and 2022.
Commenting on the development, 2×2’s director Denis Vsesvyatsky said: “Through this important partnership, we are opening a new era in the adult animation industry in Russia. And we invite everyone who creates animation for an adult audience to cooperate with 2×2 and Premier. The 2×2 TV channel has the largest expertise in adult animation on the Russian market, which allows us to be leaders in this environment. We are very pleased that our colleagues from Premier have joined the development of this area. We believe that our union will take adult animation to a completely new level, also thanks to international production companies with their vast experience”.
Premier’s CEO Ivan Grodetsky added: “Connoisseurs of adult animation are a new audience for Premier, we see potential in it in terms of attracting users with their own special tastes and content consumption habits. We are confident that the expertise of the 2×2 TV channel in the field of adult animation, as well as the understanding of the audience on which our video service relies, will allow us to create extraordinary projects under the Premier brand. In the near future, we are announcing three animated series for adults, in addition, we are considering other new projects from leading animators”.
