T-Mobile takes on US ‘Cableopoly’

October 29, 2020 10.29 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

T-Mobile US will launch three distinct streaming services and an Android TV dongle nationally on November 1.

Known as TVision Live, Vibe and Channels, the former will be accompanied by a new streaming device named the TVision Hub.

Customers will be able to cut the cord for as little as $10/month for entertainment channels or get live sports and news starting at just $40/month.

TVision Live will be available in three packages (TVision Live TV, with 30+ channels; TVision Live TV+, with these and 10+ more channels; and TVision Live Zone, with both and 10+ more channels, costing $40 $50 and $60 a month respectively), including local stations.

Three simultaneous streams will offer 100 hours of cloud DVR, and access to over 10,000 programmes on-demand.

Meanwhile, TVision Vibe will offer 30+ channels, featuring the best of comedy, lifestyle and drama, for $10 a month; and TVision Channels a la carte, starting with Starz, Showtime and Epix.

TVision streaming services and the TVision Hub will be available nationwide for all T-Mobile post-paid customers starting November 1. It will also be available to legacy Sprint customers later in November, and next year for prepaid customers.

The three streaming services will be available via the T-Mobile TVision app from the App Store and may be watched on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD. With the Google Play app, they may be seen on Amazon Fire TV, Android TV or Google TV.

Meanwhile, the TVision Hub is an HDMI streaming device and remote running Android TV. It will cost customers $50.
