Zattoo launches in Austria

October 28, 2020 10.19 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Zattoo is launching its streaming OTT service in Austria in partnership with Krone.at.

In partnership with Krone.at, the number 1 online daily newspaper in Austria, Zattoo offers an alternative to traditional TV reception via cable and satellite. Krone.at is responsible in particular for the marketing and coverage development of the TV streaming service to end customers, while Zattoo primarily ensures the operation and ongoing development of the TV streaming platform.

“We have been observing the Austrian TV market for a long time. In recent years, our focus has been on Germany and Switzerland,” comments Nick Brambring, CEO of Zattoo.

“Now everything fits together. The market is ready for an independent TV streaming provider. Zattoo is very well positioned for expansion. And with Krone.at, we have just the right partner to get going at full speed”.

“Moving image is one of our strategic pillars and core competencies. In addition to the launch of our channel Krone.tv in September, the cooperation with Zattoo is the next important step towards becoming a comprehensive moving image provider”, said Michael Eder, Managing Director of Krone Multimedia.

“We take into account the new user behaviour and can offer all Austrians a flexible TV product with which they can enjoy Krone.tv and dozens of other channels comfortably at home in front of the TV or on the go on their smartphone or tablet”.

For EUR14.99 for the Ultimate subscription and EUR11.99 a month for the Premium subscription, Zattoo users in Austria can now stream over 60 channels in HD and Full-HD. With Connected TV apps for Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, Google TV, Samsung Smart-TV and the Xbox as well as apps for all popular smartphones and tablets, Zattoo offers its users the greatest flexibility in the choice of end device.

As in Switzerland and Germany, the subscription can be tested free of charge for one month and can be cancelled monthly. In addition to the live pause and restart function, Zattoo users in Austria can also watch the entire TV offer of the past seven days on demand.
