Tele2 has appointed Mats Almgren as new executive VP, Tele2 B2B and member of the group leadership team.
Almgren has a solid experience from the B2B segment and telecoms industry with previous positions at Telenor, TDC and most recently as VP at the Swedish railway operator SJ. He will succeed Fredrik Stenberg, who will leave the company after a handover period.
Tele2 notes it recently combined the SME (Small Medium Enterprise) and LE (Large Enterprise) departments into one joint Tele2 B2B organisation. It adds that Almgren will join Tele2 on January 18, 2021 and report to CEO Kjell Johnsen.
Commenting on the appointment, Johnsen said: “I am very glad to have Mats join the Tele2 family. He brings a precise knowledge and track record from B2B operations within telecom and I feel confident that he will be able to address the industry challenges that we see in the B2B segment. Mats has an excellent reputation as an appreciated and engaging leader”.
He added: “I would like to thank Fredrik for his commitment and efforts during his very long career at Tele2 and Kinnevik. Throughout the years Fredrik has contributed with a lot of valuable expertise and a clear leadership. I wish Fredrik all the best in his future endeavors outside of Tele2”.
