Sweden’s Com Hem has said that failure to reach an agreement with Telia’s TV4 Media could result in Com Hem and Boxer viewers no longer being able to watch TV4 channels and C More from 23.59 on October 30.
It adds that the agreement it concluded with Telia’s company TV4 Media after the negotiations in December 2019 expires on Friday and “unfortunately we have not yet managed to agree on an extension of the agreement”.
It adds that Telia has refused to extend the agreement the two parties agreed on in December 2019 and instead requests a sharp price increase.
Com Hem adds that its main priority right now is to do everything it can to find a sustainable solution that makes TV4 available to all its customers in the long term. In the event of a shutdown, it will compensate its customers with other channels and benefits. All customers will then receive individual information about what it means, based on each customer’s current subscription.
Samuel Skott, commercial manager at Com Hem, added: “It is sad that we again cannot agree with Telia, something that before Telia took over ownership of the channels had never happened in our and TV4’s joint history. Com Hem and Boxer have always contributed significant reach for the mainly advertising-financed TV4 channels. It is therefore surprising that Telia is now requesting a sharp price increase when we so recently agreed on an agreement”.
