Vodafone has begun to show selected movies in 4K on its TV service in the Czech Republic.
It will also gradually add 4K TV content to its Vodafone TV offer, as well as restored classics from the National Film Archive.
In a statement, the company says that it launched a 1Gbps service this summer that is now available to 1.3 million households. This provides the basis for it now offering 4K services to its customers.
Commenting on the latest development, Quique Vivas, Vodafone Czech Republic’s VP for non-corporate customers, said: “As the first operator in the Czech Republic, we enable subscribers to the Vodafone TV video library to run titles in the highest 4K image resolution. Our set-top box is ready for such a resolution, in addition, as of this summer, Vodafone TV also includes the Netflix service. Thanks to this connection, customers longing for top image quality already have something to choose from. The next step will be the transmission of TV channels in 4K in the near future”.
Vodafone’s video library is already included in the Komfort and Komplet packages. With the Klasik package, customers get access to over 1,000 films and series for CZK99 (€3.62) a month.
