Amazon is on the verge of securing one of the rights packages to the Champions League in History.
According to Il sole 24 ore, the streaming service is in the running for one of three packages being auctioned by UEFA to broadcast the Champions League between 2021 and 2024.
The newspaper says Amazon has offered close to €80 million for the package of 17 games per season, including first pick of the Wednesday night match.
Sky, DAZN and Mediaset are also in the frame.
Amazon already shows Champions League in the German market and has rights to international tennis and the Premier League.
