Museum TV comes live from Sotheby’s

Museum TV is to broadcast live from the world famous Sotheby’s auction house.

The October 21st transmission will cover the Modernités and Contemporary Art Evening sales, taking place at 5pm BST. It’s the first time that a full auction has been broadcast live and is exclusive to Museum TV.

“This live broadcast is a worldwide premiere for Museum TV and we are very proud of this partnership. In the current context, when we cannot travel, Museum TV brings the greatest art events to your living room,”, said Nela Pavlouskova, managing director, Museum TV.

The two prestigious sales are dedicated to the major artistic periods of the 20th and 21st centuries and will present artworks of the great masters working across Europe and beyond, such as Pablo Picasso, Pierre Soulages, Francis Picabia, Wassily Kandinsky, Bansky, Bridget Riley, Andy Warhol, Ayin Ajih Odutola, Alberto Giacometti, Zao Wou-Ki, Adrian Ghenie, Piero Manzoni.

Museum TV launched in April 2017 as the first channel entirely dedicated to the visual arts. Its distributed by THEMA and is available across 40 countries around the world including Canada, the United States, Russia, the Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, the Netherlands, Spain and 26 countries in Africa.
