Apple is to gift an additional four months subscription to its fledgling streaming service Apple TV+ to some of those enjoying its launch offer.
In a story first reported by Techcrunch, Apple is planning to extend the free year of Apple TV+ to subscribers who were given a free subscription when they bought a new Apple device.
Subscriptions that would have ended in November will be extended through until February. The premise is that the earlier competition would have fallen in what could be an extended period of Covid restrictions.
A $4.99 monthly credit for three months (applied in November, December and January 2021) will be given to subscribers who took out a subscription themselves.
Subscribers will be emailed to inform them of the extension.
