Sergei Storozhev has been appointed the CEO of Vitrina (‘Showcase’) TV, the grouping of Russian broadcasters that distribute terrestrial TV channels over the internet.
Furthermore, reports ComNews, Vitrina TV has admitted GPMH (Gazprom Media Holding) to its membership.
Vitrina TV was established three years ago and has until now been headed by Alexey Yanchishin. It already carries 21 channels, 17 of which are on the first and second multiplexes and works with over 150 sites that distribute the channels over the internet.
Since its launch over 70 pirate sites have been closed, resulting in the number of unique viewers for channels rising by between 100-300%.
Storozhev previously worked at Channel One and took part in the organizational and technical work to set up Vitrina TV.
