The BBC is to maintain some of the news and information elements of its Red Button service.
It was originally planned to remove local, national and international news headlines and stories, sports headlines and results, and weather forecasts in January, but a day before the decision was put on hold after a petition organised by the National Federation of the Blind of the UK was handed in to the BBC and Downing Street.
It’s now been confirmed the sections will stay, instead the BBC is dropping lottery results and regional sports coverage.
Red button video streams for the likes of Wimbledon or Glastonbury are not affected by the change.
