RTL increases channel line-up on Tele Columbus

September 30, 2020 10.53 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German broadcaster Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland has signed a new carriage deal with cable operator Tele Columbus, enabling the addition of several new channels to the line-up.

Free-TV channels VOXup (HD/SD), RTLplus (HD/SD), Toggo Plus (HD/SD) and pay-TV channels RTL Crime HD, RTL Living (SD) and GEO Television HD are available to cable households with immediate effect.

With RTL UHD, an Ultra HD channel will be distributed on Tele Columbus’ core network for the first time, available to PŸUR customers signed up for an HD package.

“With the new agreement we have concluded an intensive negotiation process on the carriage conditions. We are pleased to be able to offer our customers an even wider range of channels through our cooperation with Mediengruppe RTL and to be able to distribute a channel in UHD quality on our core network for the first time,” said Stefan Riedel, Chief Consumer Officer of Tele Columbus.

“The possibility of providing new and versatile content on our network and at the same time offering additional multimedia services will enable us to further optimise the interactive proposition for our customers,” he added.
