Elke Walthelm new managing director of NBC Universal Global Networks

September 30, 2020 13.26 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Sky Deutschland’s programme director Elke Walthelm takes over the position of managing director of NBC Universal Global Networks Deutschland with immediate effect.

Walthelm will head NBC Universal’s business in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in addition to her role as executive vice president content at Sky Deutschland.

“Elke has been responsible for the development and positioning of series, films and entertainment programmes at Sky for many years with great success. I am therefore very pleased that Elke will now use her extensive experience to shape the future of NBC Universal’s popular channel brands and diverse programming,” said Devesh Raj, CEO of parent company Sky Deutschland.

Walthelm added: “I am very pleased to build on the successes we have achieved so far and to further develop the programme and channel portfolio together with the great team at NBC Universal (NBCU). The brands Universal TV, Syfy, E! Entertainment and 13th Street are high-profile flagships for NBC Universal and are also an integral part of the linear and on-demand programming portfolio of all NBCU platform partners and of course Sky Q and Sky Ticket.”

Walthelm, who has worked for Sky since 2005, succeeds Katharina Behrends at NBC Universal, who left the company at her own request after 15 years.
