Fraunhofer IIS launches webinar series on next-gen technologies

September 28, 2020 10.52 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Next-generation audio and video technologies as well as the future of broadcast and streaming are the focus of a new webinar series set up by German research institute Fraunhofer IIS.

The 3-part series features a panel of experts in standardisation, broadcast and production workflows talking about pioneering solutions for immersive audio and video production, efficient delivery formats, live encoders for broadcast and OTT, the creation of enhanced consumer experiences as well as the latest industry trends.

The experts discuss the necessary steps for the transition to next-generation broadcast and streaming technologies including advanced features of MPEG-H Audio and Advanced HDR by Technicolor. Demonstrations will also be performed to explain how immersive and interactive sound and vivid pictures can be achieved within the limits of today’s infrastructures.

The participants will have opportunities to ask specific questions, establish contact with the speakers and receive practical advice.

The webinars take place on October 6, 8 and 13, 2020 and include experts from industry players ATEME, Cobalt, Interdigital, Jünger, Philips, Technicolor and Telos Alliance as well as Fraunhofer IIS. Details on the agenda, speakers and free registration can be found on the Fraunhofer IIS website.
