The Czech public broadcaster Ceska Televize (CT) has launched a new HbbTV application dedicated to the Tipsport Extraliga ice hockey league.
It works in two modes, either as a detailed version filling the entire screen or as an assistant when watching the current TV broadcast, where in the lower right corner shows the progress results from all matches of a round.
CT has been providing HbbTV services since 2012 and the are currently used by over half a million viewers each month.
Separately, according to the national transmission company CRa the transition to the DVB-T2 standard is continuing according to plan in the Czech Republic, with the last DVB-T transmitters due to be switched off at the end of October.
Some 60% of the population watch terrestrial TV, with broadcasts reaching more than 99% of the country’s households.
DVB-T2 networks distribute the commercial services Barrandov TV, Barrandov Kino, Barrandov Krimi, Noe TV, Nova, Nova Cinema, Ó?ko, Ó?ko STAR, Prima, Prima Cool, Prima Love, Prima Zoom, Prima MAX, Prima Krimi, CNN Prima News, Prima +1, Seznam TV, Radio Proglas and Rádio Dechovka.
