Ukraine’s Cyberpolice department and main investigation department of the National Police have uncovered a company that illegally distributed TV channels in Kyiv and Vinnytsia oblasts.
In a statement, the Cyberpolice department says that it established the company has been providing Internet and cable TV services to the public since 2017. However, its offer included five TV channels that the provider did not have permission to retransmit.
This violated the copyright of broadcasting channels and losses for the company’s actions reached over UAH1 million (€29,800).
Criminal proceedings have been initiated and the defenders could face up to six years imprisonment.
