Viasat World inks ViacomCBS licensing deal

Viasat World has signed a new two-year licensing agreement with ViacomCBS Global Distribution Group. As a result, the amount of upcoming content on the Viasat TV channels and ViP Play online cinema available in Russia and CIS countries will be increased by 20%.

The agreement will bring over 150 hours of new content from Paramount Pictures’ library. Furthermore, it will give Viasat World access to to more than 90 movies from Paramount Pictures, including recent hits that will be exclusively shown on the Viasat TV channels.

Commenting on the development, Irina Gofman, president and CEO, Viasat World, said: “This year we are expanding the range of our partners and continue increasing the amount of our high quality content. With this two-year agreement we will be able to offer some of the most popular and greatest films in cinematic history, including recent global hits and critically acclaimed classics. Every year we purchase new content so our viewers have access to fresh and new projects from global studios”.

Lisa Kramer, executive VP, International Television Licensing, ViacomCBS Global Distribution Group, added:
“We are delighted to be working with Viasat World to bring a wide variety of world-class films to viewers across Russia and CIS countries.

“This agreement will greatly enhance Viasat’s already robust content offering with an array of outstanding and entertaining films.”.
